if the frequency of the stimulus given to the skeletal muscle is increased and the time between two stimulus is shorter than 1/3 of the time required for a single contraction (jerk duration) in a muscle (20hz for slow-twitch muscles, 60-100hz for fast-twitch muscles) contractions unite and maximum possible contraction of the motor unit is achieved. this is called tetanus. source: lecture notes

as the amount of extracellular calcium decreases, the amount of sodium that enters increases, so spontaneous discharge increases and tetany occurs. at the same time, hypercalcemic tetany occurs when intracellular calcium increases in the muscles.

6

muscle disease with effects such as constant movement of the muscles, tremors, and sudden cramps due to the irregular functioning of the endocrine secretion system and the decrease in the rate of calcium in the blood.

also known as neuromuscular irritability. occurs mainly as a result of hypocalcemia*. paresthesia*, muscle twitching occurs especially around the mouth and extremities. it can also cause carpopedal spasm, trousseau sign, chovestek sign, convulsion, laryngospasm, bronchospasm.
