Studio Ghibli is an animation studio whose name is inspired by a hot African wind called Sirokkoy. In Libya, this wind was called "Qibla". The word was brought to Italy and became the name of an airplane brand. The studio's founder, Miyazaki, was a fan of airplanes and wanted to make a statement with the name of his studio, saying it would "blow a hot wind in the animation world". He chose the name Ghibli to reflect this idea.

Then I heard a song called "Chihiro" and it made me think of going to school without being sad. Finally, there was a song called "Catbus" that made me smile.
