The confusion in Lebanon is a good thing for Israel because it will distract other countries from focusing on them. Groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, who are currently in conflict with Israel, will now have to focus on the chaos in Lebanon instead. This means that Israel will be able to do whatever they want without anyone paying attention. The situation in Syria is also being blamed on them, even though they are not responsible for the assassination. America will also benefit from this chaos as it will take the attention away from their actions in Iraq. The situation in the Middle East is already complicated, and this confusion will make it even harder to understand what is going on.
