as a student of sinology*, the discussion i participated in with the pronunciation of 'şyaomi'. but that 'ş' should also be something thin, close to the letter s, otherwise it won't work. also the word itself means 'maize' in chinese, why would someone name a tech company millet?!? edit: add.
