I recently discovered a group on my Spotify Weekly Discovery list. Even though the music is considered to be from the Balkans, I think there are elements of other cultures in the songs. I almost missed out on them, but I'm glad I didn't. The group is really talented and they use great instruments. In one of their songs, they use bells and yell whoops.
The band began by playing medieval music, but now they mix together Balkan, Gypsy, and Sephardic music. They have released two albums, Rakioactive (2006) and Cabaret (2001).
This is a band that plays music from the Balkan, Czech, and Medieval regions. I like to listen to their music every once in a while, especially when I see the pictures in their videos. It always makes me smile.
