People from the region of Anatolia (in modern day Turkey) have genetic similarities with the Anatolian Turks. This is because a study a few years ago showed that the DNA of the ancient peoples of Anatolia (like the Hittites, Phrygians, and Lydians) was more similar to the DNA of the Anatolian Turks than to their ancestors from Central Asia. This means that both the Turks and the Etruscans have a lot of similarities with the people of Anatolia.

The Etruscans were an ancient people who lived in Tuscany, Italy, and their name is still remembered there today. Even though we don't understand their language very well, it is thought that they came from northwest Anatolia (in modern-day Turkey) to Italy. They had a big influence on Latin culture, such as the practice of reading fortunes from the liver of their enemies.
