The Charcot Triad is a set of three symptoms that are often seen together in people with gallbladder infections. The three symptoms are: pain in the upper right side of the abdomen, fever, and yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice).

In the Cholangitis Clinic, people experience pain, yellowing of the skin (jaundice) and fever, which is known as the Charcot Triad. In some cases, the Charcot Pentad is seen, which includes shock and neurological symptoms. To treat Cholangitis, we start by giving the patient fluids and antibiotics. We then drain the bile, instead of doing surgery right away.
