cemil ceto revolt
During the national struggle period, Cemil Ceto, the leader of the Bahtiyar tribe, started a rebellion. The Ankara government sent military units to put down the rebellion quickly. Cemil Ceto and his son were captured and executed because they wanted to create an independent state in and around Siirt, separate from the Istanbul and Ankara governments.
