Islam was added to the policy of the CKMP, which caused a group of Turks called the Gray Wolves to leave the party. Ali Balseven was the first person to be killed for not wanting to combine his beliefs with Islam. He left the party and was killed in the Liberation Park because he refused to follow the rule of "shooting anyone who goes against the party".
Ali Balseven was a young man who wanted to make his own path in life. He joined a nationalist party, the MHP, but left when he realized they weren't true to their beliefs. The nationalists then killed him as punishment for leaving. We will never forget what happened to Ali and this shows how two-faced the nationalists are, as they both sold his case and then murdered him.
It is sad that this man had to go through this experience. He had to leave his hometown of Kahramanmaras to go to university in Ankara, only to be hurt by his old friends. It is important to keep Turkish culture and Islam separate, and this incident shows why. Don't let this experience bring you down, stay strong.
